This is the day we hear about Doubting Thomas-the guy who, I personally believe, has been given a bad rep. It is normal for us to question some things and wonder at things beyond our comprehension-God gives us brains to wonder and question those things. In fact, doubting can, in some cases, be a good thing. It can cause to look beyond what we have known to be true, to seek answers to what we don’t understand, to struggle and wrestle with things to figure out exactly what we think about them. Today, we honor the honesty that Thomas exhibits, and we pray that, like Thomas, when we are filled with doubts and questions about our Lord, we will come to grow in our faith as discover that Jesus is right there, beside us, all the way. My prayer is, that like Thomas, each of us will be spurred in our faith to call Jesus “My Lord and my God”!
