You are what you eat-we have all heard that before. And in the case of Holy Communion, that is powerfully good news for us. As we come forward to take the consecrated Body and Blood of Jesus in the form of Bread and Wine, we not only eat the Body and Blood of Christ, but we BECOME the Body and Blood of Christ for the world. God gives us the very best he has to offer-Jesus, the Bread of Life. This Bread not only gives us life and hope for now and forever, but empowers us to boldly go out into the world to make a difference in Jesus’ name as we do God’s work with our hands to fulfill our purpose-to be led by the Spirit to serve God and share Christ’s love with all. Remember, in the case of Holy Communion, the Sacrament of the Altar, YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT!!!! Thanks be to God!
