STATION III: Jesus Fall for the First Time
Jesus, beaten and bleeding, dazed by the screaming of the soldiers and the crowds, fatigued beyond human strength, falls for the first time under the weight of the cross. But in this fall, Jesus continues to teach us about life in him. He teaches us to accept our human frailties and vulnerabilities, and in doing so, he invites us to be more understanding of the weakness of others around us. We are invited to show mercy to the fall, concern for the wavering. We are invited to share support and dignity and offer a safe place to land for those who need it most. As disciples of Jesus, walking in the way of the cross, how might we be vehicles of God’s love, support, and care in our world?
