STATION II: Jesus Takes Up His Cross
The weight of the cross is heavy-for on it, Jesus bears the sin of all of us. It is the weight of the sins of us individually, corporately, the sins of our society. He took them all upon himself in order to reconcile us to God again-to bridge the gap between us and God that was created by our sin-Jesus took it all upon himself.
Here’s an invitation-if we return to the Lord through repentance and confession, if we turn to Christ in prayer and love and self-sacrifice, if we walk the Way of the Cross with him as we try to bear the burdens of our brothers and sisters, then the burden of the cross becomes lighter-Jesus takes up the cross-OUR cross-the burden of being human-and he goes before us, alongside us, and with us, pointing the way to true life in him. So-will we walk with him?
